Cry Babies are baby dolls with interactive play features for children age 3-6. When they are filled with water they make real-life crying noises and emit realistic tears. Each of the five dolls in the wave 1 collection comes with their own pacifier and is dressed in a unique animal-style onesie. Children can soothe the babies by giving them their pacifier, rocking them gently or lying them down, functions which are designed to encourage and develop empathy and nurturing skills in children coupled with imaginative play from a young age.
The winners of the TOTY Awards will be selected by ballots cast by consumers, toy retailers, media and the Toy Association members and will be announced at a Gala ceremony in New York on February 15, 2019.
